Organization
OBREAL’s organization comprises the following governing bodies:
General Assembly: it represents all of OBREAL members. Its main function is to define OBREAL’s general orientation.
Board of Directors: it comprises a President, an Executive Secretariat (with no voting rights) and six representatives. Some of its functions include:
- to define the areas and programs that are covered by the network in response to the needs of the European and Latin American countries comprised by OBREAL;
- to act as a liaison between the network, governmental and civil society organizations in Europe and Latin America and relevant international institutions (United Nations Organization, World Trade Organization, etc);
- to supervise the research, publications and information dissemination strategies of the network;
- to undertake consultations with technical experts.

Executive Secretary: it is located at the premises of the Scientific Park at the University of Barcelona. Its main function is to coordinate all of OBREAL’s functions, though particularly:
- to assist the Coordination Committee undertake its functions;
- to coordinate the publishing and dissemination strategies in Europe and Latin America;
- to manage the relations between the OBREAL member institutions.
